Get ready for a new performance each week at The Levee precinct

GET READY FOR SOME ENTERTAINMENT

In autumn The Levee gets creative with Changing Colours.

The precinct will host a range of pop up performances each week in a range of performance styles.

From live music, circus acts to a flash mob, we have quite a line up for you this autumn.

Take a stroll along the Riverside Walk, through the precinct, check out the entertainment and watch the leaves fall.

Friday 13 May 7.00pm to 8.30pm - National Music Academy - The Sanusi Trio - HIGH STREET, WEST

Check out young musicians from National Music Academy as they perform for you and passersby. Located close to many of the great eateries at The Levee, catch some live music and enjoy some delicious food. 

Saturday 28 May 10.00am to 12.00pm - The Pretty Amazing Jono - THE LEVEE SHARED ZONE

Part Magician, part Mad Scientist and part MacGyver. The Pretty Amazing Jono combines comedy, magic and stunts with his own chaotic brand of wonder and whimsy.
With such maker magic marvels as the Marshmallow Mini Catapult, Toilet Roll Bazooka or juggling a flaming axe on a five foot unicycle while blasting bubbles from his mega bubble backpack.
Having performed for over 20 years He’s been described as ‘Surprisingly good…considering’ and ‘Really enthusiastic!’…

From the ridiculously magical to the magically ridiculous you must experience the Pretty Amazing Jono for yourself.

Thursday 10 March 6.00pm to 7.30pm – Indy Sue - the levee shared zone

Indy Sue is a country pop singer songwriter from Newcastle. She has been singing since she was five and playing guitar since she was 13. At 17 she is excited to share her music with the world and is influenced by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Maddie and Tae and Carrie Underwood. 

Saturday 26 March 10.00am to 11.30am – David Wheeler - The RIVERLINK

Maitland local, David composes original songs which have a reflective mood about the people, places and personalities he has encountered his words and music covering a range of topics. His songs have been finalists in several song awards and have been highly commended for the manner in which he uses words to ‘paint a landscape of musical images’.

The response he received to the occasional original song encouraged his determination to perform his original material exclusively, and this has met with delight from audiences wherever he has performed. 

Saturday 2 April 11.30am to 12.30pm – Fondalicious - THE LEVEE SHARED ZONE

Fondalicious is a flick kicking, hair crimping party straight out of the 80s. Classic aerobics and jazzercise moves set to a pumping soundtrack. Prince, Madonna, Whitney, Wham and Bowie will have you grapevining and box stepping up a storm.  

 Lycra is optional but always highly encouraged. 

Inspired by Jane Fonda, the goddess herself, Fondalicious embodies everything great about the 1980s. It’s about getting out, getting sweaty and having fun. Embrace that 80s cheese.  

Friday 8 April 7.00pm to 8.30pm - National Music Academy - LIL X.O - HIGH STREET, WEST

Wednesday 13 April 11.00am to 1.00pm - Kara and Samuel from Three Rings Aerial and Circus Arts - THE LEVEE SHARED ZONE

Kara and Samuel are an acrobatic adagio duo with seven years of experience from Newcastle. They delight in wowing audiences with their combination of incredible strength, skills and smiles.  

Saturday 23 April 10.00am to 11.00am - Live Art with Graham Davidson - THE LEVEE SHARED ZONE

Thursday 5 May 11.00am to 12.30pm - Fabulist Umbra Shadow Puppetry - THE LEVEE SHARED ZONE

The Fabulist Umbra – Moving panoramas and shadow puppetry are combined in highly visual performance and boutique story telling. 

Suitable for all ages a series of works devised remotely during lockdown are performed for the first time live. Audience participation is encouraged preferred and expected.
